I heard the crashing on the shore
The thrashing, smashing, bashing gore
Yet I sailed on inside my ship
The waves rose up – My bow had dipped
Into the sea, and so fell me
Inside the swell – Aquatic Hell
I felt the monsters of the deep
Swimming underneath my feet
I thrashed and splashed and tried to yell
I wished the ship survived the swell
The serpents came and touched my feet
They sang my name and taunted me
They felt my pain and haunted me
They opened wide and swallowed me
I had been ate – The world was dark
I cried in vain inside the shark
I writhed and died – My light went out
But then I saw a splashing trout
How can it be? I had lost me
Inside the belly of the beast!
The waves rolled on – The trout splashed out
He sang a song straight from God’s mouth
“Please have no fear! You are in here
The light’s not out – the dark’s just near
The Devil, he’s inside your ear
He’s screaming, “Shout! Give up your cheer!”
But that’s a lie – You never die
You simply find another life
You’ll hear the song up high sublime
Deep inside your soul’s confines
Go trust yourself – You will be fine
More than good health, bounties unwind
They come to you when you stand firm
When every muscle begs to squirm
Now, be still inside this beast
Eat your way out – Let’s have a feast!
I’m just a trout – I am the least
Devout fish inside the sea

The light inside but everything

It beats in time with ease and grace
It slows and quickens at its pace
It is the Song Eternal, now
